An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications specialist to join our team. The role of Communications Business Partner is key to helping us achieve our strategic aims by planning and delivering fully integrated media, marketing and digital campaigns to support our services and objectives.
We are looking for a proactive and motivated team player with experience of creating engaging content for traditional media and digital channels to start conversations with a wide range of audiences and affect behavioural change.
Excellent written communication skills are essential, as is political sensitivity and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
You will work alongside and provide specialist support and advice to customers (including Assistant Directors, Corporate Managers and Councillors) enabling the councils to meet our strategic, business and internal change programme aims. This will involve creating, developing and delivering fully integrated campaigns, in-line with organisational priorities, across a range of external and internal communications channels.
You will work to maximise the potential of our social media channels by creating and delivering social media campaigns and generating useful content to engage with residents and stakeholders.
Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are at the forefront of joint working and progressive partnership - two sovereign councils, each with a strong sense of identity but with a shared vision of the future.
Our journey over the last five years has seen us integrate our workforces and become the first districts nationally to move to a joint headquarters in Ipswich, creating a public sector hub with Suffolk County Council and two clinical commissioning groups.
The councils are ambitious for the communities they serve, with a local population of approximately 200,000 in an area which has consistently been voted as among the best places to live in the country. Our priorities are supporting sustainable economic growth, building more affordable housing and helping our communities stay safe and become healthier.
This role is normally based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, however, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.
Our employee benefits include a generous leave entitlement, access to the Suffolk Green Travel Plan, gym discounts and a competitive pension scheme. We also offer a range of training and development and will give you all the support you need, for your career and wellbeing.
We are committed to agile and flexible working (subject to business need), with full time, part time or job share opportunities considered. Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.
