This role is funded by Reopening High Street Safely Fund (RHSSF) and Welcome back funding which gives us the ability to support and promote a safe public environment for both local residents and the visitor economy and implement measures to safely and successfully reopen our high streets, parks, play areas and open spaces during COVID recovery.
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will support our Public Realm Team to deal with increased demands to the service over the busy Summer period as we welcome back visitors and residents spend more time outdoors following the Covid pandemic. Your role will be key in providing litter clearance duties throughout the joint district.
The Public Realm Team are responsible for the day to day management of the District Councils’ countryside sites and open spaces. These include informal recreational sites, local nature reserves, parks and smaller picnic areas.
In addition, the Team is responsible for Council owned play areas, management of the Councils’ tree stock, routine grounds maintenance on roadside verges and open space within Council housing areas and keeping the Districts clean through litter collection and removing fly tips.
