Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic team player to join our Strategic Housing Service, as we seek to deliver affordable housing within the districts.

Supporting our wider housing strategy you will have knowledge of housing and/or planning policies to facilitate the delivery of various forms of social housing.

We are developing authentic and lasting relationships with our external partners and communities to increase the supply of housing. You will need to demonstrate flexibility and creativity in your approach to this area of work.

We are proud of the role we play in creating the environment, economy and communities for our districts. Babergh and Mid Suffolk have consistently been voted amongst the top places to live in the UK.

You will be able to demonstrate both attention to detail and a commitment to collaboration and cross sector working. Having a 'can do' attitude, a track record of building trust and confidence and finding solutions to complex problems are essential elements of the role.

With a desire to succeed, you will share our values, commitment and motivation to make a difference for our districts.

Experience of housing and partnership working within a public sector setting is desirable.

This role is normally based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, however, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.

We are committed to agile and flexible working (subject to business need), with full time, part time or job share opportunities considered.  Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.

For an informal discussion about this role please call Louise Barker – Strategic Housing Team Manager on 07860829520 or email: louise.barker@baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk
