The Role

Based at Citizens Advice West Suffolk offices with a requirement to travel to other locations as required, and reporting to the Co-ordinator in the Supported Advice Team. Some evening work may be required to present to local groups.

Our work with clients affected by a Severe Mental Illness primarily centres on our Supported Advice Team who support clients through the social welfare advice process.          

Role purpose

You will establish formal relationships with other statutory and voluntary agencies that support clients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). You will share good practice amongst the agencies and refine and improve the referral process between ourselves and these organisations. This initiative will provide clients with a more integrated approach across the various services supporting them.

You will develop and manage a centralised database evidencing all aspects of the clients’ support during the resolution of their issues. This evidence will include the collection and recording of clients’ health and well-being using a recognised measurement tool.

You will provide presentations to local groups and partners to promote the service to hard to reach clients and under-represented groups.

Terms and conditions

  • Base: To be agreed but will be office based
  • Pension: Eligible employees 3% employer and 5% employee contribution into a workplace pension scheme with NEST.
  • Contractual Sick Pay: 4 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay on a rolling 12 month basis, after completion of the 6 month probation period.
  • Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks to include bank holidays
