We are looking for a motivated and committed Team Manager to work within our newly formed Short-Term Enablement Service, managing two teams in Lowestoft and Ipswich (work base to be negotiated). You will be managing Leading Lives Enablement Practitioners working alongside Suffolk County Council's learning disability and autism social work teams.

The Short-Term Enablement Team receive referrals directly from Suffolk County Council and to support individuals in their home, the community. People are supported to develop skills, live independently and to manage crisis.

You will need to have good knowledge and experience relating to the needs of adults with learning disabilities and autism, including those living independently, homeless or with support from family carers.

This post requires you to work closely with key partners in adult social care and demonstrate an understanding of The Care Act - assessment and eligibility process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day management of the service
  • Supervising, managing and developing practitioners
  • Meeting organisational and local authority reporting requirements
  • Demonstrate leadership and a solution focused approach
  • Support the undertaking of caseload and assessments
  • Be responsible for the receipt and allocation of referrals
  • Build relationships and liaise with partner organisations to ensure customers and their families are involved in this process
  • Budget management
  • Promote the organisations co-operative and social enterprise values.
