Stowmarket Relief Trust is seeking a capable and competent person to administer the affairs of the trust. You will be well-organised, a confident communicator and have a conscientious approach to your work.
The trust provides financial support to people suffering hardship in Stowmarket. The Clerk will liaise with the trustees and various agencies to process grant applications and organise the provision of a wide variety of goods, services and assistance to the trust’s beneficiaries.
The Clerk’s responsibilities also include administering the Stowmarket Educational Foundation, a separate charity, but sharing the same trustees. Its objectives are to support young people access education through provision of school uniform to sports equipment, laptops and travel expenses.
The charities are required to operate in accordance with the law and regulations applying to charities. The Clerk provides advice to the board of ten trustees on governance arrangements and helps to implement the decisions taken by the board.
Training and development opportunities will be supported by the trust charities to enable the Clerk to fulfil the full range of their duties.
