With a highly innovative and motivated team, we have a strong sense of purpose and a great ethos of mutual support. We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Trading Standards Officer to bring their personality and skills to one of our highly performing demand teams. We are also looking for bright ambitious individuals who possess the drive and commitment to embark on a nationally recognised qualification training programme.

Why Suffolk?

Suffolk is a great place to live and work. It offers a safe and healthy environment with beautiful countryside, stunning coastline, and vibrant communities. In short, it is a truly wonderful county!

By following systems thinking principles, we put the customer at the heart of everything we do. Our officers are responsible for enforcing all areas of trading standards law, responding to consumer complaints, carrying out criminal investigations, providing advice to local businesses and contributing to our service priority initiatives. All this work comes together to deliver our service vision of “A rogue-free Suffolk”.

We offer a 37 hour week, flexible working hours and are committed to the continuous development of our staff and service.

You will hold the Diploma in Trading Standards, the Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards or equivalent, and demonstrate excellent experience.

For an informal discussion only, please contact Marc Titford on (01473) 260648, email: marc.titford@suffolk.gov.uk or Mary Strang on (01473) 260659, email: mary.strang@suffolk.gov.uk
