Making a difference in the East of England.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic new member of our highly performing team at East of England Local Government Association (EELGA) – Business Development, Communications and Marketing.

Our role is to support local government deliver a broad and challenging agenda for the benefit of citizens and their communities across our region, by coordinating a strong presence and voice for our member authorities, and working with a wide range of national bodies and regional partners.

This role forms a key part of our senior management team, with a particular focus on our commercial and communications functions.

You will lead business development, communications and marketing and will have line management responsibilities.We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience in all three elements of this portfolio.

EELGA is based in Bury St Edmunds, offering flexible and remote working with some travel requirements across our region. As part of our senior management team you will work closely with the Managing Director / Director and two other senior managers to deliver first class support and services to our membership as set out in our business plan.

We are passionate about improving public services and you will be too.

In addition to a strong background in business development you will be a credible advocate, astute and agile with highly developed analytical capabilities and great organisational and leadership skills; you will work alongside our 50 member councils and a wide range of stakeholders as a ‘trusted advisor’ helping member councils and EELGA identify and leverage further opportunities for development and transformation in this critical next phase of our work.
