On 1 April 2019, we will become East Suffolk Council – a new ‘super district’ authority, replacing Suffolk Coastal and Waveney. It will be the largest district council in the country, providing high-quality services to a quarter of a million people across east Suffolk. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to provide a funding support service. The Funding Team provide a vital role within the East Suffolk Councils in terms of sourcing, co-ordinating and managing external funding and managing a programme of community grants on behalf of the councils.
Your responsibilities will include providing efficient and comprehensive funding advice and ensuring that wider team(s) are fully briefed about external funding opportunities. You will also be responsible for signposting businesses, communities and groups across the Districts to support agencies providing funding advice, or where appropriate directly providing funding advice. In addition, you will be involved in the management and administration of the community grants programmes.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong numeracy and data handling skills and be educated to degree level or equivalent. Most importantly, you will have experience in the development of funding applications, securing external funding and co-ordinating and administering grants processes related to the development and delivery of economic development, regeneration and community projects. You will also have knowledge and understanding of the processes involved with UK and EU funding sources.
