Fixed-term contract until August 2020.

OneLife Suffolk are commissioned by Suffolk County Council to deliver the Integrated Healthy Lifestyle Service across the county.

We work every day to help people make healthy behaviour changes in an accessible, friendly and fun way. We know that one size does not always fit all, and that is why we have developed our own psychologically informed services to encourage our clients to make healthy choices that we are confident they can maintain.

We are non-judgemental and take pride in all our services which include Stop Smoking Clinics, weight management for adults and children, encouraging increased levels of physical activity, taking health walks and offering NHS Health Checks. Due to the expansion of OneLife Suffolk we need to recruit to a number of new posts so that we can continue delivering amazing services to Suffolk residents - after all, we are here to serve our local community.

We are looking to appoint a Communities Engagement Practitioner to join the team at this exciting time.

As a Communities Engagement Practitioner, you will work tirelessly to ensure that our services are accessible to members of the community who need them most. You will also play an important role in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of workforces across Suffolk.

You will assist in the delivery of community events and be the face of the OneLife Suffolk service within your local community. Expect to converse with lots of professionals who are equally dedicated to improving the health of Suffolk.

You will work in partnership with primary and secondary care providers, voluntary organisations, workplaces, educational institutions and health and social care providers (to name just a few). This is an exciting and fulfilling role. You will be accountable for forging working partnerships with organisations across Suffolk to ensure that professionals within the county are aware of OneLife Suffolk and are actively referring their clients to our service when the individual would benefit from making healthy behaviour changes.

You will be responsible for delivering Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training across Suffolk and will be targeted around this work (it is really important after all). MECC training provides individuals who work within communities the skills to have positive discussions about healthy behaviour changes with their clients. And that is not all, you will also provide Level 2 Smoking Cessation Advisor training for primary care providers who sign up to our Stop Smoking Service. Sound like a big task? It is, but you will be amply supported by the wider OneLife Suffolk team and will work closely with the Communities Engagement Lead and be supported by the Training and Education Lead to be the best educator that you can be.

If you are looking for a new challenge and are passionate about the health of your local community and can fulfil the requirements of the Job Description and Person Specification, it would be great if you applied.

To apply, please send your CV via email to: julie.hepton@onelifesuffolk.co.uk

OneLife Suffolk may bring forward the closing date if sufficient numbers of appropriate candidates apply.
