This role is currently based at the Ipswich Records Office, Gatacre Road, Ipswich, IP1 2LQ, but will be moving to The Hold, 131 Fore Street, Ipswich, IP4 1LR in late Summer/Autumn.

Do you have a proven track record in commercial management at a successful visitor destination? Can you establish a start-up, lead and grow a range of commercial activities within a new heritage building, across Suffolk and online?

You will:

  • have influencing, sales, and negotiation skills; prioritising resources and embedding commerciality to increase footfall, turnover and profitability
  • effectively analyse, plan, and innovate to maximise revenue from, amongst others, retail, events, exhibitions and licencing to establish a sustainable service
  • show strong business acumen, be commercially astute with a wide network to keep in touch with the latest developments in best practice
  • have a passion for heritage and culture and improving their accessibility for people of all backgrounds.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

For an informal discussion only, please contact Kate Chantry on (01473) 260129.

Interview date: 21 July 2020 (interviews will be conducted via Skype)
