Fixed term until 30 July 2021.

We are looking for an exceptional leader, with a proven ability to effectively champion the needs of vulnerable children, to join us to secure the best possible outcomes for the children of Suffolk.

You will be part of the leadership team managing the work of our highly skilled Standards and Excellence Officers, directly influencing and shaping our school improvement work with school leaders. This will require you to have the skills and knowledge to continue to strengthen and develop the team's work, in line with the county's Raising the Bar ambitions.

You will bring vision, strategic approach and motivation to this vital area of work.

You will be welcomed into the wider Senior Leadership Community at Suffolk County Council, benefiting from access to a supportive network of professionals from different directorates. This role provides an opportunity for you to continue to grow as a professional whilst playing a pivotal role, within the Education and Learning team and the wider work of the Children and Young People (CYP) directorate.

There will be many opportunities for you to confidently communicate with a wide variety of audiences, such as, county councillors, Multi Academy Trust chief executive officers and headteachers. Therefore, an ability to be adaptable, to respond with professionalism and political awareness is essential when representing the team.

If you are able to work collaboratively in a solution focused way, reflecting the ASPIRE values, your application will be welcomed.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role, you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

For an informal discussion only, please contact Fran Alexander on (01473) 265139 / 07732 604021 or via email: francesca.alexander@suffolk.gov.uk
