Salary: dependent on grey or green book. Up to £77,281 when competent and inclusive of operational cover allowance.
The service is seeking to appoint to two posts, over the summer of 2021.

It’s vital that in your application you describe your skills and experiences against the criteria in the job and person profile, and complete the 4 National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) Leadership Framework questions, as that’s how we will decide our shortlist for interview.
The roles are based in Ipswich, however a mixture of working from Ipswich, our other locations across Suffolk and home is acceptable.
Where relevant, the operational requirements of the role, would require you to live or provide a base which allows for operational response around the county, attendance at SCG in Ipswich and evening commitments across the service. You will be expected to have experience in dealing with complex and large emergency incidents, involvement at Tactical Coordinating Group or Strategic Coordinating Group and professional development and qualifications in support.
Timings to consider:
- 6 April 1300hrs: taster session in Suffolk or virtually. A chance to meet members of our Strategic Team and find out more about us and our service.
- 12 April 0900hrs: application window closes.
- w/c 26 April: assessments and interviews in Ipswich, or virtually, for those short listed.
