You will be based at the Fire Service Headquarters in Ipswich, Suffolk and a vehicle is provided for business use.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is a forward-thinking, innovative, people-focussed organisation and is looking for talented people to join our team.
The service is seeking to appoint to two posts, one in December 2019 and one in April 2020.
Given the operational requirements and flexible nature of the role, you would be expected to live or provide a base which allows for operational response around the county, attendance at SCG in Ipswich and evening commitments across the service.
You will have an exceptional track record of contributing and delivering strong leadership, be forward-thinking, possess a detailed understanding of the issues relating to the fire and rescue service and local government at national and local levels, be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, have excellent communication skills and be politically aware.
You will be expected to have experience in dealing with complex and large emergency incidents, involvement at TCG or SCG and professional development and qualifications in support.
* initial, rising to £75,767 on achieving competency. Inclusive of flexi duty allowance.
Timings to consider:
- Taster session in Suffolk at 1300hrs on Monday 4 November. A chance to meet members of our Strategic Team and find out more about us and our service
- Application window closes 1300hrs on Monday 18 November
- ADC in Ipswich, for those short listed, on Tuesday 3 December
- Interview in Ipswich, for those successful at ADC, on Wednesday 4 December.
