'Be the best you can be'

"You can't stop a teacher when they want to do something. They just do it." (J. D. Salinger)

Required from September 2019. NQTs welcome to apply.

If you want to make a difference to the lives of young learners by inspiring them through the study of literature, come and join a like-minded faculty of English specialists and enthusiasts.

GCSE English results have been excellent over the last few years. In 2018 the school achieved 54% in the basics measure of English and mathematics (5+) and 68% achieved a grade 5 or better in English.

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to teach English across the age and ability range and support our quest for classroom excellence through innovative and creative teaching and learning. You will be passionate about teaching English, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential and will contribute to our whole school development and the raising of standards.

This post would be suitable for a new entrant to the profession or a colleague seeking to broaden their experience.

Claydon High School, in liaison with local providers, provide an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff. NQTs will be paid for working in July if they are available to come into school at the end of the summer term.

We pride ourselves on our positive hardworking ethos and collegiate atmosphere.

Claydon High School is a popular mixed comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich, easily accessed from the A12 and A14.

Further details and an application form can be downloaded from our website:  www.sslt.org.uk or by emailing: hr@sslt.org.uk

We look forward to hearing from you.

Due to the time scale for appointment, we will contact any applicants upon receipt of application. Therefore, this position may close sooner if a suitable candidate is found. Please contact our HR Team on (01206) 298200 Ext 406 for further information.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts.
