On 1 April 2019, we will become East Suffolk Council – a new ‘super district’ authority, replacing Suffolk Coastal and Waveney. It will be the largest district council in the country, providing high quality services to a quarter of a million people across east Suffolk. Our councils are an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to those who need them most.
With a new Asset Management Strategy in place, this is a fantastic time to join our growing team. We are looking for a Junior Surveyor to assist with the day to day management of the council’s asset portfolio, including valuations, lease renewals and inspections. You can be based at either Riverside, Lowestoft or East Suffolk House, Melton. Mobility within the district is essential as there will be a requirement to travel.
Ideally you will be MRICS qualified or working towards a qualification with relevant experience in Estates Management and have experience of working to agreed targets within a commercial environment and the ability to work unsupervised to a high level.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we’ll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There’s also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose built brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Interview date: w/c 15 April 2019.
Please note: There will no access to apply for Suffolk Coastal & Waveney District Council roles between Monday 25 March 2019 – Sunday 31 March 2019. During this period, the site will be down for essential maintenance in order to prepare for the change to East Suffolk Council on the 1 April 2019. Access for applicants will resume 1 April 2019.
