Looking to kick-start your career? East Suffolk Council has an established and successful apprenticeship scheme, which has seen over 80% of its apprentices stay on beyond their apprenticeships to develop promising careers with the Council. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity where you can gain job-specific skills, industry recognised qualifications and a solid foundation to build your future career within ICT, then look no further.
A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our ICT team at the Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority (SCPHA) offices located on the Port of Felixstowe. SCPHA has a small dedicated ICT team providing all ICT services and support to staff and operations based in the Port of Felixstowe as well as supporting external users of SCPHA’s applications.
The ICT Service Desk Apprentice will help provide a central point of contact for all users and the delivery of technical support, advice and good customer service via telephone, email, and face to face. This may include providing ICT support for telephony, printing solutions, user devices and desktop applications, as well as supporting routine system administration tasks and ensuring service desk records are accurate and up to date.
You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, an aptitude for ICT and a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grades 4 -9/Grade C and above (or equivalent) including English and Maths. No previous experience is required, however a proactive and professional approach as well as the desire to provide an excellent customer experience is essential.
So, what can we offer you in return?
- A fully funded and supported Level 3 Infrastructure Technician qualification
- Generous annual leave entitlements and high street discount scheme
- Valuable work-based skills from day one
- The opportunity to meet and work alongside other apprentices in the organisation
- Multiple training courses and development opportunities to add to your CV.
