Our popular infant and junior schools, based on separate sites, have been successfully collaborating for around 13 years and in a Federation for 7 years.
We are seeking to appoint a cover supervisor/higher level teaching assistant who will form positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents and uphold the strong, caring ethos and inclusive environment of both schools.
Whilst an HLTA qualification is desirable it is not essential and we would welcome applications from experienced teaching assistants that possess the confidence and skills to teach whole classes.
The role involves teaching classes from nursery to year 6 during staff planning, preparation and assessment time and periods of short term absence, and providing support in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils by working with individuals or groups of pupils when whole class cover is not required.
Although technically two schools, we work on a ‘one school two sites’ principle and are eager to find someone who can demonstrate real enthusiasm and a flexible and adaptable approach to their work. The person appointed must also be committed to supporting children in enjoying their learning and achieving. They will need to be good communicators with very good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. Minimum requirements are 5 A*- C with English and Mathematics.
The post is based across both Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior School. Contracts are issued across the Federation of Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior. Staff appointed to either of the schools may be required on a temporary or permanent basis, to carry out part of or the whole of their duties at either or both schools.
Please also refer to the specific job description, found in the related information section, that forms part of the application pack for further information.
We are able to consider visits to our schools, however would advise a phone conversation with a member of the SLT in the first instance due to the current restrictions in place. Please contact the School Business Manager to arrange this.
If you require any additional information please contact the School Business Manager at: email@example.com or on (01394) 284052/283206.
Completed applications should also be submitted to the School Business Manager. Interviews will hopefully be held in person, however over zoom if restrictions are still in place.
Interview date: 1 July 2021.
Our schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. The post is subject to satisfactory references, health check and an enhanced DBS check.
