32.5 hpw, 38 weeks per year.

We are looking for an HLTA to work in the Lower KS2 classes from September 2020.

Castle Hill Infant and Junior Schools are established primary schools based in Ipswich. Castle Hill is a vibrant school within Asset Education that is developing a curriculum relevant for the 21st century. Over the last two years, the academy has undergone a significant transformation with a learning community grounded in our core framework.  In addition, we place great emphasis on developing children’s character, using our Learning Knights, in order to prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in both their education and life by working with Pivotal Education and Trauma Informed Schools UK.   

This role includes planning and delivering quality lessons to support high professional standards in teaching and learning in the school to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

Under the instruction / guidance of teaching or other senior staff and within the overall ethos of the school, you will undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialised support for those with special education needs, enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. 

To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.  This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals / groups or short term for whole classes under an agreed system of supervision.

Experience in working and supervising classes and classroom management experience is essential.

You must have a good knowledge of safeguarding regulations and experience of classroom management.

This post will be reporting directly to Gemma Andrews Head Teacher and will be based at Castle Hill Infant and Junior Schools.
