Ormiston Denes is going through one of the most exciting times in its long history. With the support of a high performing and nationally established academy trust, we have launched a new structure at SLT and middle leader level which affords a number of professional development opportunities. We are looking to appoint a highly versatile individual to manage our Reflection Room and support students’ successful integration back into the academy.
We are seeking an efficient, reliable, friendly and trustworthy individual to run our Reflection Room. The unit caters for students who have been acted poorly in class and have disrupted the learning of others in lessons. You will manage the Academy’s Reflection Room on a day-to-day basis, directly supervising and working with the students accessing it. You will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate behaviour strategies, in keeping with the academy polices. You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Experience of working with children or young adults in an educational environment would be an advantage but not essential as training and support will be provided.
If you are flexible, supportive and understand the needs of young people, we would like to hear from you. You should be able to develop a range of strategies to promote a good attitude to learning in and around the academy, along with experience of restorative justice and corrective behaviour approaches with young people.
We are looking for an individual who:
- Is innovative, self-motivating and able to inspire others.
- Has the highest expectations for the attainment of all young people.
- Enjoys working as part of a team to ensure the success of all.
- Is driven to relentlessly remove barriers to students’ success.
In return Ormiston Denes Academy will offer you:
- An innovative learning community, constantly aiming for high standards.
- A supportive, welcoming community of professionals.
- Extensive development and collaboration opportunities, throughout the Ormiston network.
Due to the academy school holiday period we are unable to offer visits to the academy. If you are interested in the post, or to arrange an informal discussion please contact Dawn Carver in the first instance for further details: firstname.lastname@example.org
