This is an exciting opportunity to join the Directorate of Student Services, Safeguarding and Support.
You will provide an outstanding service for the assessment of student additional needs, support and guidance, aligned to Suffolk New College’s strategic aims and advising on requirements in relation to the 0–25 SEND Code of Practice 2014.
Working closely with curriculum teams and external agencies, you will be committed to enabling students to achieve and progress
You will be required to provide support to students with specific needs and disabilities, including completing assessments of needs, advising on support to be provided, contributing as appropriate to Education and Health Care Plans, carrying out exam concession assessments, chairing annual reviews, transition reviews, and arranging referrals for more specialist advice.
You should therefore have excellent knowledge of the requirements for education providers arising from the 0–25 SEND Code of Practice 2014. In addition, you will have a good standard of education including mathematics and English at GCSE 4 / C grade or equivalent, a relevant degree or equivalent in demonstrable experience and a Level 7 Specialist Assessment and Access arrangements qualification or a commitment to achieve within a specified timeframe (an entry requirement for this qualification is to hold either QTLS or QTS, a HLTA qualification or an equivalent teaching qualification).
This post is based at Suffolk New College, Ipswich Campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site and you will therefore be required to work at and travel between campuses.
