An opportunity has arisen within the Family Solutions Team for you to support both the work of existing team members and take the lead in providing intensive support to children and young people who are either:
- on the edge of care
- currently in local authority care and the plan is for reunification
- in an immediate crisis (including homelessness) that would require them to be a Child In Care if no action was taken.
Working as part of a strong and emerging multi-disciplinary county wide team, you will share responsibility for providing intensive support to young people and their families. To do this you will be required to work flexibly with visits at times that the family are at home including evenings and occasionally some weekend hours.
Caseloads within the team are kept deliberately low to enable support to be provided at the level required to achieve sustainable change.
As well as having a keen interest and knowledge of working with older children and their families, we are seeking practitioners who are keen to further develop their skills in direct work and solution focused practice as well as developing an understanding of other psychologically based therapeutic approaches.
For an informal discussion only please contact Dionne Smith, Consultant Social Worker on 07595 089509 or Russell Woolmer, Practice Manager on 07717 302628.
Please ensure you read the Job and Person Profile before applying for this role.
