Zero hours contract; hours may include weekends, evenings, bank holidays and may very occasionally include waking nights and sleep-ins (as it is a zero-hour contract however, you have the right to refuse any hours offered). You must be prepared to work on a rota basis but will have at least two days off a week.

L'Arche has an exciting opportunity for a Care and Support Worker to join the team in Ipswich.

Would you like to work with other friendly people and build up friendships? Are you looking for care work at a fixed location?

We support a wide range of people with learning disabilities in our Supported Living Services. Like other support providers we are regulated and inspected to ensure a high-quality of provision.

We are looking for live-out assistants who are passionate about working with people with learning disabilities. We want people who are flexible, honest, hardworking, sociable and patient. We are looking for those who promote dignity, respect and equality. They should work in accordance with the values of L'Arche, where each person is valued and encouraged to build relationships with one another, and to develop their own potential for growth. An interest in spirituality and faiths would be highly beneficial.

You will be:

  • helping people create a home and enabling them to maximise their independence through the acquisition of new skills and increased social integration
  • supporting individuals in their leisure, social, practical, physical and spiritual needs
  • providing personal care with dignity and respect; including supporting people with both complex health and physical needs in daily life which may include some aspects of moving and handling.

Excellent training and induction will be given on commencement in post.

If you feel you have the passion and drive to join our team, an application pack can be downloaded from the related information section.

Please return your completed application form and equal opportunities document via email to: emily.nunn@larche.org.uk

The successful applicants will be subject to 2 references and a fully enhanced DBS. Confirmation in post is also dependent on successful completion of the probationary period and all required training.
