Suffolk Family Carers is an innovative and creative charity, recognised nationally as the overall GSK Impact Award winner 2019. We work in partnership with over 100 organisations to deliver a range of services that impact positively on the lives of adult, young adult and young carers.
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Family Carer Support and Information Worker based from Ipswich Hospital.
You will often be the first point of contact for family carers within the hospital environment and this exciting opportunity will give the right candidate the chance to support family carers face-to-face and offer them the information, advice, guidance and support they require.
Working alongside our other worker and colleagues both internally and externally, you will have a passion to highlight the role of family carers and support them though the discharge process. An awareness of the challenges that family carers face and the support that is available to them is crucial.
Experience of working with the public is essential, preferably within or in partnership with health care. If you have the above skills and experience alongside commitment and motivation, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Suffolk Family Carers has a strong relationship with all the hospitals across Suffolk. Ipswich Hospital achieved a 'Family Carer Friendly Award'. The hospital not only has Suffolk Family Carers' staff based within the hospital, but also benefits from an on-site Carers Cabin that offers family carers a welcome respite whilst visiting those they care for in hospital.
There is flexibility around working hours as well as attractive employee benefits.
Suffolk Family Carers is located on a rural business park, easily accessible from the A14 and 4 miles from Ipswich.
