Monday – Friday. Rota basis with two week alternating shift pattern. The shifts are either 7am -3pm or 3pm -10pm plus every other weekend shifts.

The Grange Residential Home in Bury St. Edmunds is a home for adults with learning disabilities aged from 18 to end of life, including those who have dementia. The ethos of The Grange is to carry out our work in a family type environment to a standard which exceeds the requirements of our regulatory bodies and work in a person-centred way.

We are seeking to employ an additional member of care staff to provide care for our 8 residents. The work includes personal care of male and female residents, and a key-worker role to specific individuals, also taking a leading role in some group activities, as well as general domestic housework.

It is hoped that employees will be willing to work additional shifts when necessary to cover staff absences. There are also opportunities for sleep in duties at a set rate.

The position attracts the equivalent of 5 weeks paid annual leave. All staff at the Grange are required to work Public Holidays on a separate rota basis (approximately 1 in 4). Public holiday working is paid at double time, Christmas at treble time and Boxing Day at double plus a half time.

You will be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 (social care) or equivalent and preferably have experience of working with those with learning disabilities.

*£10.35 ph at weekends.
