Fixed term / secondment for 15 months - Ipswich and East Area Dementia Team.

Due to the successful appointment of the current Senior Practitioner to the Team Manager post, we are looking to appoint to the now vacant post.

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker or Occupational Therapist who will work closely with the Team Manager in supporting practitioners in delivering a high quality service to customers with a diagnosis of Dementia or other related conditions, and their relatives.

We would expect you to be able to evidence a real commitment and understanding of the needs of the particular group of people the team work with.

This secondment will provide you the opportunity to work with the newly appointed Team Manager in establishing a period of stability in the management of the team, continuing to build on the Signs of Safety practice model and the links with Health colleagues and others in Dementia related services. You will also undertake responsibilities, and attend various forums as part of the wider Area Management Team.

Whilst based at Landmark House, you will also have responsibilities to team members based in the other area ‘outlining offices’.

If you are interested in this secondment, please discuss with your line manager in the first instance. As per the secondment policy, please ensure you have sought permission to apply before completing your application.

You will be required to travel frequently in rural areas, so you must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to personal transport.

A relevant social work qualification and HCPC registration are essential.

For an informal discussion only, please contact Julia Parish on (01394) 605031.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks required for relevant posts. Suffolk County Council - welcoming diversity.
