We are looking for a motivated social worker to join our mental health transformation in Suffolk, you will support people with severe and enduring mental health problems.

* You will be appointed based on your skills and experience:

  • *Grade 5: Newly qualified at £27,905 rising after ASYE to £29,636, experienced at £29,636 - £31,371
  • *Grade 6: Senior at £32,029- £34,585.

Our mental health Service provision is currently going through substantial transformation and we would like you to join us in our improvement journey. We have a new Mental Health strategy that has been co-produced with partners and service users and an unwavering commitment to improve services for the better.

Partnership working is strong and there is an appetite to build on our strengths and move the service towards innovative and reflective practice. Staff will be supported through a reinvigorated Section 75 agreement, and a network of partnership support.

There will be opportunities for you partake in developing a reflective and learning culture, where best practice is celebrated through an academy approach, working with principal social work colleagues and the local university. In all cases, there will be a full package of induction, support and development that will be tailored to meet your needs.

Working alongside your colleagues, you will manage demand and contribute to the effective leadership of mental health services, supporting the management team in delivering a culture where mental health is understood and valued at all levels.

A relevant social work qualification and Social Work England registration is essential, along with continued professional development. We welcome applications from newly qualified social workers and can offer you full support and access to the ASYE programme run by Suffolk County Council.

You will need to hold (or need to gain at the earliest opportunity, which usually takes between 6 - 12 months to obtain) an AMHP (Approved Mental Health Professional) qualification, after which you would participate on the local AMHP rota and receive the honorarium.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
