What you could be part of…

Based at our office in Thorpe St. Andrew, with a remit to cover the areas of both Broadland and South Norfolk,

the role of Waste and Recycling Officer sits within the wider Contracts, Waste and Environmental Protection Team.

Joining our hard driving but friendly crew would enable you to be part of a team which is proud to deliver high-quality, customer focussed services. Our success comes from being flexible, innovative and business-like in our approach. Continuous improvement is also vital and our employees challenge themselves to develop new and innovative ways to improve the services that make a real difference to people’s lives.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Help to promote and develop recycling and waste minimisation services
  • Receive, investigate and resolve complaints from the public
  • Help to assemble, maintain, review and report data
  • Monitor the on-site use of household waste and recycling bins
  • Support the development and delivery of projects to encourage recycling and waste reduction

You must have…

A full driving licence and business use insurance and be able to travel within both districts. Previous experience in a similar or related role with the ability to develop effective working relationships and communicate confidently with a variety of audiences.

What’s in it for you…

Our package includes employer pension contributions of 15%, performance related pay up to 4%, 23 days holiday increasing to 28 days after 5 years plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time employees), flexi time, on site café, compassionate leave and sickness entitlement for times of need.  As a Platinum Investors in People you will have regular reviews with your line manager and a personal development plan.  We also support towards volunteering days in the community and encourage staff to be involved with fun activities to raise money for local and national charities.
