What you could be part of…

Working as one team across two Councils you will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplined development management team which is facilitating and encouraging the delivery of growth to a high standard.  The role offers the unique opportunity to work across a geographical area rich in heritage assets, based at two office locations in Norwich and Long Stratton.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Process general enquiries and advise on whether planning permission is required.
  • Assess planning applications and discharge condition applications including site inspections, publicity, liaison with technical consultees, negotiation with applicants/agents, objectors and the public
  • Prepare delegated reports and recommendations to committee in respect of planning applications.
  • Prepare evidence, land use history and statements in the preparation of appeals.

You must have…

Relevant qualification (HNC or related degree) and/or proven experience in a planning environment. Working towards membership of the RTPI. A current full UK driving licence. Understanding of public sector planning environment. Good understanding of planning related IT system. An ability to prepare reports, extract and interpret information from plans and files. Effective communication skills. Problem solving skills
