We are looking for an Associate Teacher to join our Outreach Teaching Services to provide specialist teaching for KS1/2.

This position is a fantastic opportunity for an Outreach Teacher to help develop an interesting role working with pupils and their mainstream schools across KS1/2 within a forward-thinking Alternative Provision Academy Trust.

With a number of bases in the Ipswich area but working across Suffolk, you will work alongside the wider Raedwald Trust Outreach Teaching Service to enhance the delivery of outreach 1:1 and/or small group education to a very complex group of young people within primary schools.

We are looking for knowledgeable Outreach Teachers who are wholly committed to improving the outcomes for pupils for whom education to date has been far from straight forward. We are looking to engage and inspire this group of young people to enable them to access and succeed in their educational setting and beyond. This post will be supported by both the Senior Leaders at the Raedwald Trust and an existing Outreach Teaching Service team (based in Ipswich).

The Raedwald Trust provides education for young learners who are unable to access mainstream education for medical or behavioural reasons.

You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who consistently demonstrates the highest standards of delivery, fully committed to raising attainment across all key stages and acutely aware of the strategies required to achieve the highest standards within your subject area. You will be a teacher who has experience teaching pupils with SEN and ideally SEMH.

We can offer you the opportunity to be part of a highly effective learning team and continued professional development.

You will be required to:

  • promote the ethos and values of the trust
  • act as a role model for both students and staff
  • deliver lessons which are tailored to suit and meet the needs of each student, using varied and creative means to facilitate learning
  • assess and record students' progress and provide quality feedback to support their improvement
  • prepare and maintain accurate records, using school systems and established procedures / protocols
  • contribute to progress reports to parents and carers
  • attend consultation sessions with parents and carers, providing quality information about students' academic, personal, social and emotional progress
  • collaborate and liaise with the trust's Pastoral Managers and SENCos to ensure a 'joined up' approach to students' academic and pastoral experience
  • contribute to the development of an appropriate curriculum within the trust's curriculum policy and the National Curriculum
  • liaise with teaching colleagues and the Senior Leadership Team in order to monitor and develop curriculum in line with local needs and needs of students
  • be responsible for the planning and production of schemes of work within the guidelines of National Curriculum
  • attend teaching and learning and staff meetings within directed time.

Informal discussions, prior to application, are welcomed and encouraged.
