We are looking for three Outreach Tutors in English, mathematics and science.
Copleston High School is a popular 11-18 mixed comprehensive noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. It was judged as a 'good school with outstanding features' by Ofsted in April 2013. As a school we are committed to raising standards of learning and teaching within all subject areas.
We are looking for people who are interested in delivering Outreach Tutoring to pupils who need additional assistance to support their learning. You will work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils, either in school or out of school in a location which provides suitable supervision.
You will have Qualified Teacher Status and will have experience of working with pupils who present some challenge and evidence of successful outcomes. Able to teach the subject up to and including Key Stage 4, you will have a high level of understanding of working with pupils with learning difficulties.
You will be flexible, adaptable and empathetic with excellent communication skills, including listening. You will have the ability to promote engagement with learning and the tenacity to find the way to reach pupils who might be having difficulty learning. You will have a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures and their practical application.
Roll: 1,778, including 280 in the sixth form.
